Cooling your space and improving indoor air quality don’t always go hand in hand. Opening your windows can’t always moderate the temperature of your rooms effectively, and running your AC when your windows are open is just wasteful. When natural ventilation doesn’t work, there’s one solution: go mechanical.
A heat recovery ventilation system is a sound complement to your HVAC Construction air conditioning equipment, rolling space cooling and air purification into one. Here’s how it works:
Pulling In Fresh Drafts, Getting Rid of Stale Air
A heat recovery ventilator has two fans: one for the incoming airstream and another for the outgoing. Although it replenishes the indoor air it expels, it’s also able to hold the heat from the outgoing airstream and transfer it to the incoming one. This way, the room temperature doesn’t change.
This appliance can’t recover 100% of the heat, however. An efficient heat recovery venitlator can capture 85% of the heat from outgoing airstreams. Nevertheless, this is a small price to pay for improved indoor air quality.
Pushing Excessive Moisture Out
A heat recovery ventilation system also reduces indoor humidity. If you have excessive levels of moisture inside your house, it can make your space feel less muggy. Moderating humidity levels in the home means there’s less of a likelihood that mold, bacteria and other air toxins can invade your home.
Pairing Your HVAC Construction Air Conditioning System With the Right Ventilator
If a heat recovery ventilator won’t work with your HVAC Construction air conditioning and heating system, we recommend an energy recovery ventilator instead. Like a heat recovery ventilator, this appliance also purifies the air, but it recovers both heat and moisture from the outgoing airstream. If your indoor air normally gets dry during the heating season, an energy recovery ventilation system may be for you.
